We present an on-chip multi-sorting system with 11-branches (6 outlets) utilizing the on-chip dual membrane pumps driven by piezoelectric actuators. Since the piezoelectric actuators have the limitation in the range of actuation displacement, we designed the actuation algorithm which determine the input voltages to piezoelectric actuators within the applicable voltage range by considering the latest status of actuators. In addition, we developed an actuation driver which is integrated with A/D converter, FPGA, D/A converter and the actuation algorithm to control piezoelectric actuators. We conducted the basic experiment to evaluate the constructed system by assuming the multi-peaks of a fluorescent signal to be multi-modal data for sorting. From the results, we confirmed the feasibility of continuous on-chip multi-sorting in the proposed system.
