磁性ナノ粒子のラビリンスパターン形成を利用した光シャッター

抄録

It is known that when an alternating electric field is applied to the cell composed of two pieces of parallel electrodes which is filled with two types of immiscible liquids, the mutually interpenetrated phase (Labyrinthine pattern) can be induced. However, there are fewer examples of the research; because high voltage exceeded 1 KV is necessary. In this study, we will report on optical shutter based on low-voltage labyrinthine pattern formation of magnetic nanoparticles coated with oleic acid which were dispersed in organic solvent. It was found that the nanoparticles were agglomerated and formed labyrinthine pattern and other patterns by changing the voltage and frequency.
