Preparation and properties of EOET based organic complexes

EOET (ethylenedioxy-ethylenedithio-tetrathiafulvalene) is a known electron donor which is a hybrid molecule between ET and BO. In this report, the physical and structural properties of charge transfer (CT) complexes of EOET with a number of organic electron acceptors are described. It was found that EOET has more similar aspect to BO rather than ET with respect to those properties of CT complexes. EOET molecules exhibited the ability of self-aggregation in the highly conducting salts, as has been seen in the metallic salts of BO.
