Whole products in the hydrocracking of deasphaltene oils were analyzed to evaluate the reaction progress and product qualities in the hydrocracking reaction. The hydrocracking produced distillable and non-distillable products, both of which experienced the significant changes in component species and their distribution. The distillate products were analyzed by GC-AED successfully by detecting C, H, N, S and O elements in the respective species. Simulated GC-MS provided molecular size imetoration in the respective species. Non-distillable products significantly changed according to the progress reaction. Column chromatographic separation before the respective analyses is very useful to identify the products with diversed natures. The catalyst could be adequately evaluated by such detail analyses of the products. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 230th ACS National Meeting (Washington, DC 8/28/2005-9/1/2005).
