Twenty-one patients with primary unknown cervical lymph node metastases were treated with radiotherapy from October, 1982 to August, 2000. The cause-specific survival rate at 5 year was 20.8% (the median survival rate was 12.3 months). We analyzed treatment outcomes and prognostic factors. We conclude that PS is an important prognostic factor and pathological diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma, a total dose more than 60Gy and the admistration of hyperthermia can be useful factors.
