N2 - One significant obstacle in establishing the sustainable business ecosystems described in the previous chapter is the regulatory environment. Too often, the law and other forms of regulation distort incentives for good actors and fail to respond effectively against the bad ones. This is hardly surprising. Much of the regulatory environment is designed for an old world of centralized and hierarchical corporations and the mitigation of information asymmetries and agency risk.
