Residual ultimate strength of simply supported corroded plates with initial geometrical imperfections under uniaxial compression

抄録

The loading capacity of steel plate members used in marine structures will reduce because of the corrosive environment. It is important to investigate the compressive residual ultimate strength of corroded plate. Firstly, in order to calculate more effectively, a method is introduced to model pit corroded plate by shell elements. Secondly, among the features of plate and pit corrosion, which one of them is dominant on the residual ultimate strength is figured out. Finally, the relationship between the residual ultimate strength of corroded plate and the reduction of cross section is derived.
