We report on the formation of colloidal complexes resulting from the electrostatic self-assembly of poly(acrylic acid)-b-poly(acrylamide) (PAA-b-PAM) and positively charged surfactant in aqueous solutions. By employing light scattering, we have shown that the polymer-surfactant micelle-like complexes was formed above charge ratio Z=0.2. The core is constituted of densely packed surfactant micelles, most likely connected between them by the PAA blocks. The outer part of the corona is made of the PAM chains. We also report the formation of the electrostatic complex of thermosensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)- b-poly(acrylic acid) (PNIPAM- b -PAA) and positively charged surfactant by changing pH, salt concentration, or temperature.
