Simulation research on competitive nature of plasma turbulence in linear devices

The fundamental mechanisms of plasma turbulence have been investigated in linear devices, which have simplified magnetic geometries. Our simulation researches, using fluid models for collisional plasmas, are described on competitive nature of plasma turbulence in this article. Multiple turbulent structures, multiple inhomogeneities of different particle species and multiple instability drives play important roles, and their competitions determine the nonlinear plasma states. Even in this simplified configuration, a variety of states can be attained, so the detailed studies are useful to understand the fundamental mechanisms of structural formation and bifurcation in the magnetically confined plasmas.
