A procedure using nonlinear least-squares was developed for the simultaneous estimation of the thermal conductivity and heat capacity and their coefficients of temperature. The principle of measurement is then extended to estimate the heat of reaction. The procedure involves heating a hollow cylinder from both the central axis and the outer surface. To minimize errors of measurement, the minimum temperature of the specimen should lie between the center and the surface.
