気液相変化を用いた大変形可能なソフトアクチュエータ

抄録

<p>In this work, we develop a new material that can change its volume by heating. It would be used for an actuator of the micro soft robotics field. Some of the soft materials can deform by applied electric fields, magnetic fields, and chemical reactions. These actuators can deform but the volumetric change is limited. On the other hand, there are soft actuators with large volumetric change that use inflation by air or liquid supplied via a tube with pressure. We used vapor-liquid phase transition to obtain large volume change. A silicone elastomer was employed as a matrix, and liquid materials were mixed that can be evaporated by heating. Vaporization of the liquid material caused much expansion in the silicone rubber. The fabricated actuator has the feature of being lightweight and capable of large deformation.</p>
