抄録

To ensure the safety of steel structures that can exhibit failure due to corrosion, it is important to devise a method of predicting the time-dependence of the corrosion. The purpose of this study is to develop a method of predicting how the corrosion of the surfaces of unpainted carbon steel plates develops in various corrosive environments. Atmospheric exposure tests were carried out on the steel plates that were exposed for 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 years in Okinawa Island, Japan. The corrosive environments of each of the specimens were monitored using galvanic sensors, and spatial statistical analyses were carried out on the corroded surfaces of the tested specimens.
