It is shown that the charge degrees of freedom in nearly half-filled 2D metals, with technically nested Fermi surface, show response as if the size of the "Fermi surface" shrinked from large one satisfying the Luttinger sum rule to smaller one of the "holes" created in the Mott insulator when the temperature is decreased. This gives a qualitative explanation of a long-standing mystery concerning the anomalous temperature dependence of the Hall coefficient observed in the normal state of high-Tc cuprates.
