抄録

In this study, the authors examined work motivation of a train driver and investigated its relationship to organisational factors by using participant observation and a questionnaire survey. As a result, it was found that a crucial factor of a train driver's work motivation is his work definition and this factor determines his working style and his satisfaction with the job. Further, it was revealed that the driver's work definition is affected by positive feedback from the manager and managers' leadership behaviour by displaying their passion to maintain the quality of passenger transportation services.
