A polyfluorene and the derivatives can be classified in an organic electronic material for organic field-effect transistors. The polymers in nematic glassy state showed significantly enhanced field-effect mobility when the backbone oriented parallel to the carrier transport direction with the help of a rubbed alignment layer compared with that oriented perpendicularly. We studied the anisotropic transporting property from the viewpoint of the temperature-dependence of the mobility.
