抄録

<p>Fishing-line artificial muscle, namely twisted and coiled polymer fiber (TCPF), is one of the soft actuators attracting a lot of attention in recent years. A TCPF actuator is easily made from a commercially available polymer fiber. It is a heat-driven actuator. Though its efficiency and its response speed are low, it is a low-cost, light-weight, large-force, large-stroke, and quiet actuator. This paper focuses on the contracting type TCPF and characterizes the thermo-mechanical property. A TCPF contracts by heating with a certain weight. In this paper, we have discovered the temperature-dependent hysteresis; the equilibrium position gradually varies after changing the weight only when heat is applied to the actuator. This paper aims to characterize this phenomenon.</p>
