We performed trabeculectomy with adjunctive mitomycin C in 4 eyes of 4 patients with end-stage glaucoma. All the eyes had decreased visual acuity with the visual field damage almost involving the fixation point. The intraocular pressure (IOP) was well controlled in all the 4 eyes after follow-up for 7 to 14 months. Visual acuity either improved or remained stationary in 3 eyes and was almost lost in one eye. The eye with visual loss showed low foveal threshold value of 9dB in contrast to 19dB∼33dB in the other 3 eyes. It also showed IOP of 2mmHg on day 2 of surgery in contrast to 12mmHg∼20mmHg in the other 3 eyes.
