Ultrashort pulse generation by an integrated dye laser with a plastic waveguide

抄録

A distributed-feedback dye laser with a plastic waveguide structure generates periodical ps spikes by pumping a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser of ns duration. The laser medium was a thin-film polymethyl methacrylate doped Rhodamine6G on a glass substrate. The first spike was extracted using a novel quenching scheme. An integrated pulse compressor was proposed to generate subpicosecond pulses with a periodical saturated amplification and absorption. The performances of the device was evaluated with the photon transport equation numerical simulation.
