N2 - Within-tree variation and the representative height in the trunk to indicate whole-tree values of fibre morphology, including radial, tangential and average diameters, wall thickness, and lumen diameter, were examined using Eucalyptus camaldulensis and E. globulus trees. In E. camaldulensis, high within-tree variation was generally observed in the lower and Inner parts of the trunk for radial diameter, the outer parts for tangential diameter, the lower parts for average and lumen diameters, and the upper and outer parts for wall thickness. In E. globulus, high within-tree variation was observed in the outer parts for radial, tangential, average diameters, the upper and outer parts for wall thickness, and the lower parts for lumen diameter. The representative height was 1.3 and 2.8 m above the ground for E. camaldulensis (except wall thickness), and 1.8m for E. globulus regardless of differences in tree height (growth rate) and within-tree fibre morphology variation.
